Broken Orchestra is a 501(c)(3) founded in 2018 to carry on the work of Symphony For A Broken Orchestra, a 2016 initiative of Temple Contemporary with the support of The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage and the Barra Foundation.  Pullitzer Prize-winner David Lang was commissioned to write a composition for broken school instruments collected from the Philadelphia School System.  400 professional and student musicians performed and recorded the piece and the instruments were repaired and returned to the district.  With your help, we want to bring this initiative to school systems all across the country.
